Floyd Schofield beat Lucas Bahdi by unanimous decision to win the vacant WBA lightweight title at Wintrust Arena in Chicago on 10 October 2026 — the early hours of 11 October in Europe.
The three scorecards were 116–110, 119–108 and 115–111, reports The Ring’s Keith Idec. Schofield, 24, improved to 20–0 with 13 knockouts; Bahdi fell to 20–1.
This was no easy procession. Schofield scored a knockdown in round three and was himself counted down in the eleventh. Bahdi continued to threaten with power even while trailing on the cards.
The result gives Schofield his first world title at 135lb. The wide range between the judges’ scores is worth distinguishing from the official outcome: all three agreed on the winner, but they did not see the margin the same way.
