David Benavidez says his team has spoken to Oleksandr Usyk about a fight at cruiserweight. The statement comes from his 28 October Fight Hub TV interview, included with its original audio in our 30 October edition.

Benavidez also expresses willingness to move to heavyweight. Neither possibility establishes an agreed weight, date, venue or signed contest with Usyk.

His scheduled assignment is Michal Cieslak on 5 December at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, listed by PBC. That is the confirmed appointment; Usyk is the ambition beyond it.

From our 30 October 2026 briefing; added to the website on 30 October. The text identifies event dates and distinguishes reported plans from confirmed announcements.
