Christian Mbilli’s promoter, Camille Estephan, has questioned the point taken from his boxer in round eight against Canelo Alvarez. Sky Sports published his comments on 2 November.
Estephan suggested the referee may have been influenced, while also acknowledging Canelo’s performance. That is the promoter’s interpretation, not a finding against the referee.
The official result remains a Canelo unanimous decision: 115–112, 116–111 and 117–110. Adding back the deducted point would still leave Canelo ahead on all three cards. Read the weekend results for the fight outcome.
