Anthony Joshua believes Deontay Wilder spent too much emotional energy trying to finish Tyson Fury. Speaking to The Ring, he said he intends to stay calmer when his own opportunity arrives.

Fury and Wilder fought three times between 2018 and 2021: a draw, followed by two Fury stoppage wins. Joshua’s reading is that composure could have changed Wilder’s chances. That remains Joshua’s opinion, not a proven explanation of those results.

The next confirmed appointment is Fury–Joshua on 11 December 2026 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, streamed by Netflix. Joshua’s promise to keep a clear head offers one theme for the buildup; whether he can execute it is a question for the fight.
